Lovebox Support Stonewall

Stonewall – making Britain fairer and safer
Stonewall is the lesbian, gay and bisexual charity campaigning for equality at home, at school and at work.
Lovebox is proud to be partnering with Stonewall on Sunday 18 July. We’re delighted you can support Stonewall’s campaigning work by making a donation to Stonewall when you book your Lovebox ticket.
This is where your money goes.
Homophobic bullying in schools is an epidemic that leads to appalling violence on our streets. Stonewall knows that to stop homophobia, we need to start in our schools.
The recent homophobic hate killing of Ian Baynham in busy Trafalgar Square was a chilling reminder of what happens if homophobia goes unchallenged. The last words Ian heard were vile homophobic taunts. The perpetrators were all pupils or recent school-leavers.
Stonewall provides the support teachers desperately need when it comes to tackling gay issues. YouGov polling for Stonewall recently found that 9 in 10 teachers say their pupils experience homophobic bullying, but 9 in 10 teachers have never received any training on how to challenge it. This is where Stonewall steps in. For example, we recently sent FIT, our anti-homophobia film, to every secondary school in Britain.
Your kind donations will help Stonewall make Britain a fairer and safer place for lesbian, gay and bisexual people. From teachers in schools to police officers on the streets – we all have a responsibility to tackle homophobia.
