Play the Lovebox Main Stage with NME Breakthrough

In a band?  Take a look at NME Breakthrough supported by Blackberry – the new online community for bands and fans alike. NME Breakthrough is all about rewarding new bands: we’re looking for a new act to open this year’s Lovebox festival in London’s Victoria Park. So create your artist page today to be considered by judges including Dizzee Rascal and NME New Music Editor Jaimie Hodgson. Don’t forget you have until Mon June 7 to enter and win the chance to perform on the main stage!

Entering is simple. Either:

a) Create an artist profile on www.nme.com/breakthrough

OR

b) Create an artist profile and also create a Facebook Group to build up your fan base. Call it ‘<your artist name> should play at Lovebox 2010’.

The judging panel will meet to shortlist their favourite artists, then the top five will be put to the public vote on Lovebox’s Facebook page.

Chase & Status: Lovebox? “It’s a London Thing”

If proof were ever needed that Lovebox was a standout date on the festival calendar, Friday night headliners Chase and Status have revealed that their fans are in for something special when the D’n’B Juggernauts take to the Main Stage this year.

In a recent interview with The Linc, Londoner Will Kennard (or ‘Status’ to you and me) singled out Glastonbury and Lovebox as dates for the diary, with the latter being ”great because it’s a London thing and it’s just around the corner”.

To get a taste of what to expect when the London duo come home to Victoria Park this summer, take a listen to their recent collaboration, ‘Heavy’, with fellow Friday night headliner (and East London native) Dizzee Rascal, by clicking here.
